Tawheed And Aqeedah

Shaykh Rabee’ ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee said,

“The one who does not call to Tawheed and the correction of the Aqeedah, is like the one who seeks to cure a body whose head has been cut off,since the place of the Aqeedah in the religion is like the head with regards to the body.”

[Al-manhaj al-Anbiyaa fee Da’wah ill-Allaah]

Importance of Knowledge

Imam Ahmad's saying:

الناس أحوج إلى العلم منهم إلى الطعام و الشراب ، لأن الطعام والشراب يحتاج إليه في اليوم مرة أو مرتين ، والعلم يحتاج إليه في كل وقت
“People need knowledge more than they need food and drink, because they need food and drink two or three times a day, but they need knowledge all the time.”
["Majmu' Al-Zawaid", 1/201].

The Difference Between Advicing and Exposing

Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali writes:

وقال الفضيل بن عياض موضحًا الفرق بين الناصح والشامت: المؤمن يستر وينصح والفاجر يهتك ويعير

“When Al-Fudhayl Ibn Iyaadh was asked about the difference between advicing and exposing, he said: “A believer covers up and advises [his or her fellow believers], whereas an evildoer exposes and humiliates [others].”

Become an Aalim (scholar)

Abu Ad-Dardaa said:

إنك لن تكون عالما حتى تكون متعلما ولن تكون متعلما حتى تكون بما علمت عاملا

“You will not become an aalim (scholar) until you become a mut’alim (student) and you will not become a muta’alim (student) until you act upon the knowledge you posses”.
["Iqtidaa-u al'ilmi al'amal", 29]

The Tawheed

Ibn Suraij as-Shafi'ee (d. 306H) said, as narrated from him by Abu Ismaa'eel al-Harawi in "Dhamm ul-Kalaam" and as mentioned by Ibn Taymiyyah in "Bayaan Talbees al-Jahmiyyah":

توحيد اهل العلم وجماعة المسلمين أشهد أن لا اله الا الله وان محمدا رسول الله وتوحيد اهل الباطل الخوض في الأعراض والأجسام وانما بعث النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بانكار ذلك

The Tawheed of the people of knowledge and the jamaa'ah of the Muslims is "I testify none is worthy of worship except Allaah (alone) and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah". And the Tawheed of the people of falsehood is disputing about al-a'raad (incidental attributes) and al-ajsaam (bodies) and the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) was sent with the rejection of that.
